| Name: | Rolo (Haliburton) Lamperouge |
|---|---|
| Birthdate: | 10-25 |
not for profit; for entertainment purposes only
Series: Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2
Name: Unknown; uses the aliases Rolo Lamperouge and Rolo Haliburton (but call him Rolo Haliburton and he might try to shank you)
Age: Unknown; purportedly between 14 and 16
Gender: Male
Loss: The locket that Lelouch gives him for his first, real "birthday." Rolo keeps it with him at all times, usually, and is very emotionally attached to it. He's even gone so far as to kill people who have touched it without his permission.
Appearance: Often times, Rolo is described as a male version of Lelouch's sister, Nunnally. The description fits fairly well too. With short, light brown hair and violet (almost pink) eyes, it's not difficult to see why many believed him to be Nunnally's twin. Rolo is also described as fairly delicate, much like his "older brother," Lelouch. He is also thin, fair skinned, and approximately 5'1".
Geass: When using his Geass, Rolo's right eye lights up a bright pink color, with a bird-like sigil covering his iris.
Personality: While on the outside, Rolo appears to be like any other shy and quite school boy, he is actually a cold, calculating, and apathetic assassin. At times, while working in his role as Lelouch's "younger brother" he has acted disinterested and detached from the other members of the secret service he works for. He even has no objections to killing the members of his own team should they either disagree or learn something about him that they should not know.
Despite this inner, dark side of Rolo, the young Britannian is actually a lonely, desperate boy. He desperate seeks the attention of his fake brother "Lelouch" simply because Rolo has never known what having friends or family was truly like. Because of this, Lelouch is able to manipulate Rolo, leading the younger boy to believe that Lelouch has his best interests at heart, while in truth Lelouch seeks only to use Rolo for his own means.
The result of this odd relationship leads to stalker-like tendencies on Rolo's part. While trying to ensure that Lelouch upholds his end of a promise made to Rolo, said young man manipulates others along with Lelouch. Rolo also tends to follow Lelouch as often as possible, even going so far as to watch the older boy while he's sleeping. This, accompanied by the strange attachment that Rolo has gained for a small locket given to him by Lelouch, suggests that he has a deep, strong affection for Lelouch, despite Rolo's mission to kill him.
Particulars:
☠ Abilities/Weaknesses→ Rolo's primary strength relies on his Geass. This power, that manifests in his right eye, freezes the subjective time experienced by anyone within the radius that he sets. This radius can extend anywhere from one foot around him, to large enough to encompass the entire Ashford Acadamy. To others, this ability seems like it gives him the power to disappear and reappear anywhere within seconds. Usually, Rolo has used his Geass to manipulate others or in his job as an assassin.
However, though his Geass gives him a significant advantage over most of his enemies, it does have a weakness. This weakness is that every time Rolo uses his Geass, his heart stops. Because of this, he is limited to using it in short bursts, usually about five seconds. Also, Rolo is unable to stop moving objects with his Geass, because while the Geass allows him to freeze people, the laws of physics still apply. Were something to be fired at him, he'd be unable to prevent the object from hitting him. Otherwise, Rolo is able to use his Geass any number of times on a person as long as each Geass movement is within the five seconds.

☠ Possessions→ On his person, Rolo usually carries his switch knife. He often hides this knife in the front pocket of his school uniform, and uses it in combination with his Geass to take out those that either oppose him or stand in his way. He also carries a gun, if needed, which is well hidden on his person.
Since arriving in Paradisa, he's received another locket from Lelouch to replace the one that was lost. This is dear to him, as dear as the locket Lelouch first gave him. Touch it, and Rolo just might kill you.
Canon History: One year has passed since the failed Black Rebellion. During that time, Britannia and Area 11 began to rebuild. It seemed that Zero had been executed, as the media proclaimed. This was not true, however. Zero was actually a scorned prince of Britannia named Lelouch vi Brittania. But he was captured during the Rebellion and forced to meet his own father: The Emperor. At that point, Lelouch was forced to forget all his memories of his dear sister, his role in the rebellion, and even his power of Geass.
After this, Lelouch was sent back to Japan where he took up the role as a normal school boy named Lelouch Lamperouge. But, someone was needed to keep an eye on Lelouch, to prevent him from establishing contact with the one that gave Lelouch the power of Geass. This job was given to Rolo, whose own Geass gave him a significant advantage over Lelouch. With some reluctance, Rolo took up the role and for that entire year, he pretended to be Lelouch's younger brother. As a consequence, he became part of the close knit group of friends that Lelouch had in their school's Student Council. Over the duration of the year, Rolo became aware of how it actually felt to have friends and family. To him, the time he spent with Lelouch made him feel like a human rather than someone who had been used his entire life as a tool.
But this new life for Rolo did not last. Despite his efforts to prevent it, Lelouch was able to make contact with C.C. (Lelouch's Contractor, a mysterious girl that gave him Geass) and regained his power and memories. When Lelouch discovered what had truly happened over the past year, he became angry and determined to get revenge on Rolo for taking the place of Lelouch's sister. With this mindset, Lelouch devised a plan that allowed him to manipulate Rolo into believing that despite Lelouch's plans to take down the Britannian empire and his regained memories, he still cared for Rolo as the brother he had pretended to be. Manipulated by Lelouch, Rolo became a traitor to his country and joined forces with the Order of the Black Knights. He did so in secret since both Lelouch and Rolo did not want the Emperor or others to become aware of Lelouch's returned memories or Rolo's betrayal.
As Rolo became more and more involved in the Rebellion with Lelouch, his feelings for the older teen became more and more complex. By the end of Turn 13, he had already murdered a close friend of Lelouch simply out of pure jealousy. One could say he is infatuated with the enigmatic terrorist, and it's not at all difficult to see how Lelouch was able to manipulate him.
Soon the Rebellion began to escalate farther than even what Lelouch had planned and after a chain of events leading to the complete destruction of Tokyo by way of nuclear bomb, it is assumed that Lelouch's true sibling, Nunnally, has died. Distraught, Lelouch has to be forcibly removed from the battlefield by both Rolo and Jeremiah Gottwald. After bringing him to his quarters on the Black Knights' flag ship, Rolo tries to comfort his brother. This goes awry with Lelouch lashing out at Rolo, revealing that all along Lelouch had planned to kill Rolo and that Lelouch hated him for taking Nunnally's place. Rolo, terrified and upset, flees the room only to hide in some corner of the ship. There, while gazing at the locket that Lelouch had given him, he considers what exactly his relationship with Lelouch is and what he'll do next.
Finally, he does make a decision, and ends up stealing Lelouch's Knightmare Frame Shikirou. He uses it to protect Lelouch when the Black Knights rebel against him. Together, they escape, as Rolo makes use of his Geass to beat off both the Black Knights and members of the Britannian Military. But the over use of his Geass comes with a heavy toll, and just as they arrive somewhere safe, Rolo's heart gives out.
Lelouch questions him for why Rolo saved him, to which the younger boy responds "It's because you lied, right?" Lelouch confirms having lied about hating Rolo, and finally acknowledges him as his true brother. It's these final words Rolo hears as he dies. But instead of any after life, Rolo awakens in Paradisa.</small>
